Vita
Lukas Keßler-Steiert studied Social Sciences (B.A.) and Planning and Participation (M.Sc.) at the University of Stuttgart. Even during his undergraduate studies, he focused on dialogue-based citizen participation and direct democracy, themes he was able to explore further through an interdisciplinary lens during his Master’s degree. Throughout his studies, he supported various courses by leading tutorials and practical sessions, including the lectures "Introduction to Social Science Research Methods" and "Introduction to the Political System of the Federal Republic of Germany." Working first as a volunteer and later in a professional capacity at Mehr Demokratie e.V., a non-profit organization promoting direct democracy, he focused on approaches to democratic reform in the areas of citizen participation and direct democracy, electoral systems, as well as freedom of information and transparency.
